If you are selling cosmetics, you should know the basics of selling these items on Joom.

This article includes our recommendations on the product content. Good product content will help you increase customer interest and sales of your products.

Good product content includes:

 Informative Product Images

 Video Content

 Relevant Search Tags

 Correct Attributes

 Short and Clear Product Name

 Detailed Product Description

Product Images

Product images with additional information sell better than simple images of a product on a white background. The perfect set of images consists of:

• Main image – a preview image with visually understandable key information about the product.
• Additional images – carousel images with detailed information about the characteristics of the product, rules of use and main advantages.

Main Image

The main image should be of a good quality and include the following:

1. Brand name in the upper left corner (if any);
2. Image of the product;
3. Packaging (if any);
4. Image of the effect of using the product. For example:
   • An image of a person who applies the product along with the before/after effect;
   • An image of a person with the applied product (lipstick, eye shadow, etc.);
5. Image of the active ingredient (for skin care);
6. Number of pieces in a set (if more than 1).

Empty white background, no accompanying images with the benefits and application of the product, no information on the number of pieces in a set.

Additional Images

The additional images should be of a good quality and include the following:

• Product variants (if any);
• Product from different angles;
• "How to use" directions;
• Key ingredients;
• Packed and unpacked product;
• Product benefits;
• Effect of use;
• Swatch image (for makeup products);
• Certificates.

Please make sure that the pictures show the exact product you ship. Otherwise, customers may ask for a refund.

Product Video

The video of your product will help customers to get a better understanding of what you offer and boost your sales on Joom! 

Good video should demonstrate:

• Product set;
• Product application;
• Before/after effect.

Search tags

Tags are the keywords assigned to your product, relevant search tags will help customers to find your product quickly. Good search tags should include:

• Brand name (if any);
• Category/type of the product;
• Using effect;
• Key Ingredients.

Product Attributes

Attributes are the product's key characteristics. By specifying the attributes, you let the customer get more information on how the product you are selling works. Product attributes are shown in the product card's "Details" section.

Product Name

The product name should be well-written, and provide a clear description of the product without unnecessary information and repetitive words. 

Good product name includes:

• Brand name (if any);
• Category/type of the product;
• Effect;
• Active ingredient (for skin care);
• Skin type (for skin care);
• Capacity (number of pieces/weight).

Product Description

Perfect product description for cosmetics should include:

• Small introduction to the product;
• Product volume/amount/capacity;
• Skin type;
• Effects;
• Application (Apply zone);
• Shelf life;
• Volume/Weight/Quantity;
• "How to use" Directions;
• Main ingredients-list.

How to list the cosmetic ingredients?

You must add ingredients information in the product description in English. You can add an image displaying the list of ingredients as well. 

Please note:

The product name, its physical form and characteristics cannot be listed as a product component. 

Provide the list of main ingredients to the description for all the items in Health&beauty category. You don't have to list all the ingredients, only the main ones.
