Everyday Low Price (EDLP)
Everyday Low Price (EDLP) is a pricing strategy that offers our customers products at low prices without discount events or promotions. The EDLP strategy is aimed at maximizing sales by consistently offering competitive prices, thereby driving higher sales volumes.
How does it work?
We mark specific products as EDLP, and you will see the EDLP badge next to the product name in the product list. You need to set a low initial price for a product with the EDLP badge.
Please note:You cannot mark products as EDLP on your own. It can only be done by the platform. |
EDLP is mainly applied to branded or expensive products, as purchasing decisions for such items are made after comparison with competitors’ prices.
The EDLP products cannot participate in any promotions:

What are the benefits of EDLP?
- It gains more impressions. The EDLP products will appear in a special section on the Joom website and app.
- It increases your revenue. By offering a lower price, you distinguish your products from related versions sold by competitors. Moreover, when customers trust a store that offers reasonable prices, they are more likely to pick other products from the assortment.
- It is efficient in the long term. The EDLP allows merchants to achieve a stable and predictable income as the EDLP products maintain consistent demand regardless of sales promotions.
- The EDLP strategy saves time and energy. Merchants don’t need to put in the effort needed to participate in promotion events.
How to check for EDLP products?
There are two methods to check:
1. Go to "Products" and select the "EDLP Products" tab. Here, you can see all your products marked as EDLP. At the top of the page, you can find statistics on achieving target prices for EDLP products. Hover your mouse over the question mark to view the description of each statistic.
2. On the "Products" page, you can also find EDLP products in the list of all products using the EDLP filter. Upon viewing a product's details, you'll see the EDLP badge next to its name.
How to determine the selling price?
You can determine an EDLP product’s price within the price range indicated in the Market Price or Favorable Price columns. This will give you extra rewards.
Market price
A market price is the average competitor price for the same products across other platforms.
If your product’s price matches the market price, it is considered competitive. You will get the Competitive badge and the Bonus activated note in the "Above Market Price" column. This means that your product will get increased promotional traffic and a lower commission:
- To check the expected commission size after achieving the target price, hover the mouse over the Bonus activated note.
- To check the current commission size, open the Product’s details page.
Favorable price
A favorable price is the price at which a product will be the cheapest option available among various platforms.
If your product’s price matches the favorable price, it is considered the best option. So, you will get the Favorable badge and an Extra bonus activated note in the "Above Favorable Price" column. This means your product will get more advertising traffic and a lower commission than a product at the market price:
- To check the expected commission size after achieving the target price, hover the mouse over the Extra bonus activated note.
- To check the current commission size, open the Product’s details page.
Please note:When you change a product price, the new price will be applied immediately, but bonuses and lower commission will be applied within 24 hours. |
